Last November, Yellowcard released When You’re Through Thinking, Say Yes for a second time. Not because of bad sales, not because they moved to another label. No, the only difference is that the second release is fully acoustic!
Drums are replaced with shakers, and that makes WYTTSY immediately a lot softer than the original songs. Next to that, Sean Mackin‘s violin sounds sweeter than ever now that it is accompanied by acoustic guitars. The guest vocals in Hang You Up by Cassadee Pope from Hey Monday suit the song perfectly and makes you wonder why Yellowcard did not ask her for other songs as well.
What else to say? They have the Key. Ryan Key, that is. And his voice might even lend itself better for these acoustic songs than Yellowcards normal songs. Yellowcard always has played acoustic songs during gigs, and the acoustic version of When You’re Through Thinking, Say Yes is a great addition to their acoustic repetoire.
